I been going to cologne ever year since 2004 for bear pride in Nov and the Xmas markets
and in Feb for Karneval it’s the best weekends i ever have.
This year (2011) we of back there in May for the big gay eurovision party
We always stay at the IBIS just up the road from Cox bar it’s fab gay friendly city

Re the Hyatt on the other side of the river Rhine’s banks: That’s one of the best views of the city!! You can’t fully appreciate the city until you’ve seen it from its opposite side. By the way, you get there by crossing the now-famous “lock-bridge”. So definitely worth it going there — however, I have no idea if the hotel is any good.
